I began working on Elizabeth Alexander Baby shortly after my son’s first birthday. As a new mother, I quickly realised how few options existed for luxury children’s wear that brought together the things I valued most — exceptional quality, thoughtful personalisation, and a timeless, neutral colour palette.
The name Elizabeth Alexander is deeply personal: “Elizabeth” is my middle name, while “Alexander” belongs to my son. But beyond that, the inspiration runs further back — to Hugo’s late great-grandmother, Hendrijke (fondly known as Hennie). Hennie was a woman of quiet elegance, who was rarely seen without her beloved cashmere. She adored the way it offered both cosiness and chicness, wrapping her in softness while standing the test of time. Choosing cashmere for this collection felt not only natural but also like a way of carrying her memory forward.
Our jumpers and blankets are crafted from the finest, pure (100%) cashmere yarn and designed to be truly cherished. Each piece is made to last, becoming something that can be kept, passed down, and even framed as a reminder of those fleeting little years once your child has outgrown them.
